The Pesto Chicken Penne is a standout entrée, featuring tender chicken enveloped in a vibrant, fresh basil pesto sauce, coating perfectly al dente penne pasta. For fans of classic Italian-American fare, the Chicken Marsala marries succulent chicken breasts with rich, earthy Marsala wine sauce and mushrooms, creating a comforting yet sophisticated dish.

The Classic French Toast and Southern French Toast options, with their golden crusts and tender centers, bring a sweet, indulgent start to the day, complemented beautifully by their handcrafted Bellinis or a glass from their curated beer selection.

One guest recounted arriving on a cold, rainy night and being embraced by the restaurant’s warmth and attentive service, while another celebrated their wedding reception here, highlighting the team’s professionalism and the evening’s overall magical vibe. Whether indulging in the crispy richness of Arancini starters or savoring the perfectly balanced clam pasta bursting with fresh vongole, diners find new layers of flavor that redefine expectations.

The side dishes at Magic Flute are equally enticing, from pan-seared salmon fillets with delicate seasonings to garlicky sautéed prawns that serve as perfect companions or light meals on their own. And for those with a sweet tooth, the dessert offerings—like the creamy Tiramisu, exquisite Salted Maple Butter Pecan Gelato, or the house-made strawberry jam accompanied Cinnamon & Sugar Beignets—provide a gratifying finale to the meal.

We came here on a cold and rainy night. The restaurant was nice and warm inside. The front room was full so we had to sit in the back. Our waitress was extremely nice and accommodating. They have a very simple menu. The garlic bread was light and fluffy and very garlicky.

We chose The Magic Flute for our wedding reception because we wanted something intimate, charming, and uniquely San Francisco — and it was absolutely perfect. From the start, the team was so easy to work with, accommodating every detail with kindness and professionalism. The evening itself was magical. The food and wine were incredible — our guests couldn’t stop raving about both — and the service was friendly, attentive, and fast. The restaurant’s warm lighting and beautiful ambiance made every photo glow, adding to the cozy, elegant feel we hoped for. We wanted our guests to experience the heart of San Francisco in an intimate setting, and The Magic Flute gave us exactly that. Our night was truly special, and we’re so grateful to the entire team for making it unforgettable.

Fantastic spot - amazing food with great outdoor garden space at the back with heaters in case it gets cold. I’ve been here twice and plan to come back when I’m next in San Francisco

Really amazing food. The chicken sandwich I had was delicious, and I felt as though they redefined the meaning of “flavor” in a sandwich! It was rich and the texture was perfect, the bread had a great consistency, and the coffee was wonderful.

Charming neighborhood restaurant. The food is great and the vibes are right. Had Arancini to start and they were fantastic. Had the clam pasta as my main and it was wonderful. Just the right amount of vongole and really flavorful. Also, great wine selection. We even found a new Etna Bianco that we really loved.

Food was incredible, beautiful presentation, explosive and balanced flavors. Great atmosphere! We ate a little earlier dinner in the back patio and had the place to ourselves.
